Support for Neurodivergent Women

“If we only see the challenges, we won’t have anywhere to add new positive experiences ... and they will disappear before they have room to take root and grow.”

Although I do not offer psychotherapy to adults, my years of experience in working with neurodiversity in both young people and adults has fostered an appreciation for the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent girls and women. These challenges, so often invisible and some very different to the needs of boys and men, can go unrecognised for years (sometimes a lifetime), leaving highly able girls and woman feeling unseen, unheard and misunderstood. Further, this often painful experience of many aspect of life may also mean that incredible strengths may go unappreciated or completely unnoticed.

In offering support to women with neurodivergent diagnoses in adulthood (such as dyslexia, ADHD, or autism) I seek to help you understand and appreciate both the invisible impact these differences may have on everyday life (managing time, managing money, juggling responsibilities at work) and relationships (family, friendships, romantic relationships, motherhood) and put them into a practical, working context. My aim is to help you better understand this part of yourself and think about how you can not only cope, but flourish.

Together, we can help you find empathy for your challenges and look to unveil your unique strengths.

Most often this is short term work and the pace is set by what you feel will work best for you.
